[Investigating] OIT is receiving reports that UC Merced VPN users on Windows computers are having issues with the log in window rendering incorrectly. We’re investigating and will update here when we have more information to share. In the meantime, Windows VPN users can use the incorrectly rendered log in window to log in as usual and the VPN is functional. [Investigating] OIT has continued to troubleshoot reports of campus residents being unable to stream Hulu on CatNet wifi network. We’ve reached out to Hulu for assistance in identifying this issue. In the meantime, please continue to use wired network or Guest wifi to stream Hulu on campus. We’ll update with more information as we have it in this space!

[Investigating] OIT is investigating reports of campus members being unable to stream Hulu while connected to CatNet. No other streaming sites seem to be affected. While we investigate, there’s a workaround: connect to the Guest network or cell data to continue streaming. We’ll update with more information when we have it.

[Resolved] OIT has made a small change that should resolve the problem that some users were experiencing this morning in logging in with the new SSO window. SSO should now be functioning as expected for all campus members. An issue does remain for Windows users accessing UC Merced VPN - the login window in not rendering correctly. We’re going to address that problem via another entry on this status page.

[Investigating] OIT is receiving reports that some users are having difficulty logging in this morning with our new SSO window. After investigation, it seems that this is due to browser caching on the user side. Please try clearing your cache on your browser of choice or logging in with a browser you don’t typically use. Additionally, some Windows VPN users may see a bad render of the Single Sign On window while logging into Global Protect. The window is safe to log in and VPN works as expected. On Monday, March 27 between 8:00 and 10:00 p.m., OIT will be making a number of changes that will impact the look and feel of the typical UC Merced Single Sign-On (SSO) process and UCMNetID account management, including a new SSO background screen, a new Duo Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Universal Prompt experience, and a new UCMNetID account management page with a number of updated features including account recovery options, a general security check-up, & more. There should be no impact to campus users while this work is happening.
