[Resolved] OIT has resolved the issue that was preventing faculty from accessing the Mid/Final Grades Tool in CatCourses. The tool is once again online, and faculty are now able to finish out their Summer grading! [Identified] OIT is aware that the CatCourses Mid/Final Grades Tool is currently down. We are investigating and will provide more information here as soon as we have it.

Description

Facilities has informed OIT of a planned power outage on Thursday, August 11, from 7 am - 2 pm that affects four south campus buildings: Art & Computational Sciences (ACS) Glacier Point (GLCR) Granite Pass (GRAN) Dining Pavilion In preparation, OIT will be shutting down network equipment and services in those buildings Thursday morning at 5:30 am. In-room audiovisual technology will continue to be online until the power outage begins. When OIT is notified that power has been restored, the Network team will need approximately 1.5 hours to bring network services (ethernet, wifi, and VoIP) back online and verify they are working properly. The AV team will work on verifying in-room audiovisual technology is functioning beginning with scheduled classrooms on Thursday afternoon, and continue verifying conference rooms through Friday morning. Updates on service restoration will be posted here at https://status.ucmerced.edu. [Monitoring] Thanks to many reports from users over the past week, OIT identified a potential cause to this issue. We made a change to our infrastructure at 12:01 this morning to attempt to correct the problem. So far, we're hearing back from users who were affected that the problem may be resolved. We'll continue to monitor for the next 24-48 hours before we call this issue fully resolved.

[Investigating] OIT continues to work with Microsoft Support to troubleshoot SSO Prompt issues within Outlook/Teams/Office clients. We have resolved this problem for some individual users, but the problem persists for others. Please reach out if this is happening to you. In addition to the original issue, we have also heard from some users who see a similar SSO failure logging into Oracle SmartView plugin from Excel.
